Post-Partum Care

In Chinese culture the post-partum period, especially the first 30 days after birth, is an important time for the mother to gather strength and rest after her labor and delivery. Many women in Hong King, Taiwan, and mainland China still practice some variation of this practice called “Sitting the Moon.” At Nurture we encourage our patients to take the time they need to recover, and even offer home-visits to our patients after their births to help with healing and recuperation.

Many problems that arise in the post-partum period with regards to Chinese medicine diagnosis stems from the blood loss that can occur during birth. Insufficient milk supply, post-partum depression, and anxiety are all problems that we have very effectively helped our patients with.
